Origins

Hi, Its me, Raithe, the vocalist who programmed ts. I formed Karly's Basement out of the ashes of a band called the Angels of Hades with a dream to play music for the masses since I was a kid. Me and our bassist/Synth player at the time, Akira, decided to start making music again after the breakup of Angels, connecting over music like Cocteau twins and the Cure. I found Ed Fein, a classmate of mine since the seventh grade, and we began regular rehearsal with him on drums, me on Guitar and vocals, and Akira on Synths. We eventually enlisted Gandalf to help thicken the guitar sound, and changed our name to Black Rose Requiem. At this time the high school I was attending was doing a project with uplift aerospace, having students write essays about the future of interstellar travel and planning to send the essays in text form on a time capsule attached to a probe that would land on the moon and stay there for the next 50 years. The school enliusted us to write a song and record a demo to be changed into soundwave form and attached to the files within the capsule. the name of the song is Away, and we perform it at all of our shows to this day. The song was played as a single at our first ever concert for uplift Aerospace's launch ceremony in may of 2025. For the next few months, we planned out our next show, changing our name to Teenage Propoganda and playing Belleview Beer Garden on October 14th of 2025. A few weeks later, Akira left the band and we Hired Mr. Reverb to play bass for us, discovering his powers of levitation on the day of his audition. Of course, he got the job. We played our third show at Globe hall in January of 2026 as Karly's Basement and continue to tour and work on our album as of the time of me writing this.
